Like her Papa

Almost every where I go I get asked how my baby is so fair. Poor thing is so fair and burns in the sun. She has bright blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. I took this picture because this is who she gets it from. She looks so much like my dad!

All sorts of devastation

So Brock found out that Trent was getting a new car and was really excited for Trent to get a truck. He has been talking about Trent having a truck for some time now. I don't know what it is about men and trucks, but apparently it is ingrained in them! So you can imagine the utter devastation when Trent actually decided to get a new Honda Accord instead! Brock was screaming and crying and just flat out mad! (Trent has had an old Honda Accord) Trent's old car had no radio, broke down frequently and just wasn't all that "cool", but it was a commuter car so it did the job! So Brock's impression of Honda Accords isn't that great. He said," I can't believe we are getting another DUMB Honda and not a cool Truck! All Hondas are CRAPPY!"
So once Trent got the car he made sure to drive super fast so Brock would be impressed! Brock changed his tune and said," Well why didn't you tell me he was getting the race car version?" The radio is a big plus too!

Hey Dad...

Sit on the ground, put your hands behind your back, and close your eyes! Should we be worried?

Allie 6 months

Allie turned 6 months on July 15th. She is getting so big! Here are her recent stats:
Weight: 18lbs 13 oz (95%)
Height: 26 3/4 inches long (95%)
and head is 17 3/4 inches

She is still a very good sleeper, loves her siblings and is starting to be a big Mamas girl. Her room tracking skills are improving and always needs to know that I am right there or MELT-DOWN. She isn't a snuggly baby at all. She likes her space and like to sleep in her own bed. Her hair is starting to finally grow. It is coming in pretty light. She still has bright blue eyes. She is not a fan of tummy time. Love you sweet baby girl.

Another craigslist DIY project

I found this on craigslist for super cheap. I loved its character. I knew that with a little love it could be really awesome. First I spray painted it Peek a boo blue. I am a major spray paint junkie! Then  For the first time I tried my hand at antique glazing. It had a missing knob and to buy all new ones it was going to cost more than I spend on the entire thing so I found one similar to it at the Lowes and spray painted them all oil rubbed bronze to match!

Doesn't it look ten times better?! I love it!!

Goobers

Allie has several nicknames around our house:
Goobers
Goobs
Chubbers
Cheekers
Sissy 2
Chunker

She is pretty irresistible! Funny fact about her Bumbo chair is that her legs are so super chunky that we have to practically peel her out of it. Her legs get stuck every time. It is her very favorite place to sit though. Right in the middle of all the action... in the kitchen!

Rub a dub dub

4 kids in the tub! Why is it that when kids hear the bath water going instinctively their clothes come off and they run in to join? For whatever reason when ever I give Allie a bath this is how it usually ends up. They are all in there eventually and splashing and talking to here. They all absolutely love her! Allie is a good sport to put up with her squishy bath times!

Oh geez

This kid is always there for a good laugh! Here he is coming up with a new invention to stop runny noses! I think he may be onto something! hahaha

Miracle Mile

In June Me and the kids signed up for the Children's Hospital Miracle Mile race. Jaida and Brock ran a 1/4 mile race and Pierce ran the 1/2 mile race. I signed up for the 4 mile race. It was unlucky that it happened to be one of the hottest Saturdays ever! The kids were all pretty excited for their first race. In the weeks leading up to the race they would go out running with me on Saturdays to prepare.
Here is our little cheerleader Allie! She was a good sport!
Jaida was feeling pretty big and proud to be with us!

Brock was pretty pumped up and was talking all sorts of trash talk about how he was going to win the race. He is super competitive.

Pierce was pretty nervous and also very excited at the same time.

Here is Pierce at the starting line. There was actually a kid that was puking at this moment. Lovely! Pierce did a great job. I was really proud of him for trying something new and very hard for him. My favorite part was at the very end of the race he literally looked like he was death warmed over and ready to puke himself at any moment, but he saw me at the very end cheering my heart out for him and his eyes caught mine and he pushed himself even harder to make it to the finish line! It was a proud mama moment. Way to go Pierce.
Brock was a champ and ran super hard and fast. He ended up winning first place for his age group. Jaida ran with her Daddy and did a really good job. That is a long way to run for such a little thing but she did it! She ended up winning third place for her age group!
I was impressed that I even made it to the finish line to be honest. It was so hot I thought I was going to overheat and die! So imagine my face when I actually took first for my age group! Wahoo!
After the race they had a raffle for some pretty neat bikes. Brock had his heart set on winning one. He was pretty devastated when he didn't win. We had to drag him away kicking and screaming. He didn't quite understand what a raffle meant. poor kid. All in all it was a major success. I think this may become a family tradition!
