terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day

Have you ever had one of those days where it seems like not one thing is going right? It seems like I have had a lot of those days lately and this day just happened to be a doozy! I was awakened early by Pierce claiming that he had wet the bed. Upon cleaning up that mess, Jaida wakes up screaming. I go into her room ans find her covered in diarrhea! Yay! After cleaning up both of the messes, I am trying my darnedest to not let it get the best of me. I fixed breakfast and got complaints all around. My kids are extremely picky and kind of have a routine for breakfasts. They don't like change, for instance we have eggs on Monday, Tuesday is apple muffins, Wednesday is pancakes, Thursday is is toast of some sort, and Friday is cereal. So when I made blueberry muffins on an egg morning they were not very happy with me, I should've know. At this point I remember that I hadn't let the dog out to go to the bathroom. As I opened the door to her room I was greeted by a very potent poop smell. It seems as though it was everyone's day to have a bowel problem.
After dropping the boys off at school I breathed a sigh of relief. Here's to a better day ahead.  That was until lunch time rolled around. Jaida at this point has mastered the technique of throwing tantrums and had graced me with several by this time. She wants macaroni and cheese, I comply. I honestly can't remember how I became sidetracked, but I was. Jaida was up on the counter. I hear her scream," mommy, hot!" I turned to see what was going on and found my entire stove top engulfed in flames. really?? I tried to smother it with a dish towel and was unsuccessful, baking soda did the trick! This is the point where I just called it a day! When you can't even make a box of Kraft Mac n cheese folks, we have reached an all time low. Luckily it was time for nap time and I took full advantage!
I am human. I have days like this. Do they get the better of me? yes, sometimes they do. Do they ruin me? No, the beauty of each new day, I get to have a re-do every single morning. I survived this day, barely and that is okay with me.

Babies bedding is complete

My mom is such talented lady! I told her my idea of how I wanted the new babies bedding to follow a color scheme of black, white, and yellow. She worked her magic and this is the awesome finished project. I am absolutely in love with the way it turned out. Thanks a million mom!

Brock's Brain

I don't think that there is ever a time when this kid's brain stops working. It seems like it is going  90 miles per hour and no end in sight. He wakes up at the crack of dawn with a billion ideas of what needs to get done for the day. He is constantly writing out plans or drawing up concepts of things we need to build, create, develop. Man he basically just wears me out. It is just plain exhausting sometimes.
One thing that I have found that can keep him occupied for my sanity's sake is drawing. If we sit down and draw things together some how I feel more at ease. Here is a picture of our most recent drawing of a killer whale eating a salmon. We sure had a great time doing this together and it was cute to see him try and research how the real-life animals looked and tried to color it according to that.
I wouldn't trade this crazy-brained kid for anything. I sure love his little thoughts and tid-bits. He is such a great little boy and brings so much creativity and life to our home. Love you Lumps.

Halloween Festival

We have the most amazing neighbor here. She is an older lady and has kind of adopted my kids as her grand kids. She brings them treats and gifts and just loves them to pieces. My kids think that she is pretty neat. Miss Wanda came over right before Halloween and told my kiddos that she had purchased tickets for her works Halloween Festival. They were so excited that they could hardly wait. It ended up being perfect because it was the weekend Trent was supposed to be out of town, so it was a great out of the house adventure!
With admission each kid got a free pumpkin, all you could jump on the bouncy things. Free face painting, free balloon creations, and even a free fun play! I was a little skeptical about it really being free but really it was. I was thoroughly impressed and we stayed until they pretty much kicked us out!
Brock absolutely loved this 22ft. slide and by the end was pretty much doing flips off the top. Some of the bystanders were like holy cow that kid has no fear, yup that's what I have to deal with folks.
Pierce was more brave than I thought. Jaida wanted really bad to go down it, but they told me that i would have to go with her. Pretty much didn't want to hoof my big booty up the obstacle course to get her down the slide! Sorry, Jaida!
Now let me just tell you how awesome the face painting was, some of the best I have ever seen. Holy cow, Pierce asked for a Zombie and she hit it dead on. Every time I looked at him for the rest of the day it creeped me out.
Brock wanted a magical jack-o-lantern. I thought it turned out awesome.
Jaida wanted what Brock had. She loves her some Brock and pretty much is his shadow. We are in big trouble if you ask me. The lady did add a rainbow for a girly touch.
We had the time of our lives! Definitely something I would do again. Thanks Miss Wanda, we love you!

Trick or Treat.. smell my feet

This year we had a party pooper Dad, a CRAZY eight ball ( special emphasis on the crazy), a red power ranger, a pirate and a Cinderella. To Trent's defense he did dress up for our ward's Trunk or treat, he was Clark Kent. Since we have lived here our good Friends Bob and Tracey Lowcher have invited us to go Trick or Treating in their neighborhood. They have such a fun neighborhood. Every house is decorated and the people sit or in their driveways to pass out the candy. It is like one big party. Plus their awesome Daughter Megan comes along with us to help with the kiddos.
As always we had a lot of fun and got tons of good candy. Such a fun memory to have.

Pumpkin Carving

This year our kids picked out HUGE pumpkins. They were really so big it was crazy. They were sure excited to carve them up. Each one of them had certain plans for how they wanted them to look. Mom's job is to do all the drawing of the designs and Dad's job is to carve them.
Jaida wasn't shy at all about reaching in and grabbing out the innards. She loved every second of it.
Brock had the biggest pumpkin of them all, but go figure it had the least amount of seeds.

Cleaning them out is not really Pierce's favorite thing to do. He is a little on the OCD side, like me and doesn't like the feel of being dirty.
blah, I took terrible, but it is about the kids right and to document that I really was there!
Brock went with a traditional Jack o Lantern face.
Pierce wanted a spooky looking face.
We did Jaida's with a funny crooked smile and as you can tell it  looks just like her! Hahaha love her little crooked grin.
The night was a success, unfortunately it was so rainy and warm outside our pumpkins were mushy and moldy within a few days. Man, those things get stinky!

Playing in the leaves

In October Trent went out of town and the kids were out of school. We were pretty bored with out Daddy here. We decided at about 7PM to go out and rake our neighbor's leaves and jump in them. It all started out great. All the kids were chipping in and picking up the leaves. We had quite the pile. They gave up about 15 minutes into it and were tired of raking.
Being the totally nice mom I am I continued to finish our pile. I was sure glad I did because they literally had the time of their lives jumping and playing in them. I think our neighbor was pretty thrilled too.
We stayed out way past dark and it was really so much fun to play and feel like a kid again. After it was all said and done, everyone was happy and tired!
