A moment

This weekend we planned a spur of the moment trip to Pismo Beach. Trent is good at making me get out of my comfort zone. That is something I'm grateful for because otherwise I'd probably be a hermit and never leave. Anyway, my friend Amy hooked us up with a sweet hotel and we spent the night. The kids thought it was pretty amazing. I remember as a kid staying at a hotel was awesome. After spending time at the beach we came back to the hotel for some swimming. Then we went and got some dinner. Afterwards I took Pierce, Brock and Jaida to the pool. It was then that I had one of those moments where I just wanted to freeze time forever. We were swimming and playing in the pool. We were all giggling and having a really good time. Another guy was in the pool, he turned to me and said," these are the best days of your life, enjoy them!" At that moment I knew that was true. I couldn't think of a happier moment. I had just an overwhelming feeling of joy and love for my sweet children and at the same time a extreme amount of gratitude that they were mine. Sometimes I can hardly believe that. I know that as time passes these are the moments I never want to forget.

Pretty tricky

Allie has some new tricks:
1. Holding her bottle. (doesn't like to do it though)
2. She rolled over from tummy to back for the first time yesterday. She hates her tummy time.
3. She scoots her legs up under her and does a little inchworm routine. She can't get very far, but has a very determined look on her face.

Another Brock funny

I have to write this one down before I forget!
Tonight Brock was asking Trent to play beyblades with him. Trent told him no. Brock said," You never want to play with me. You almost always... Not always, but almost always say some excuse like I'm too sore to play with you!" Trent said," I do not I can't even remember the last time or if I've ever said that before." Brock said,"Well, that's because your old and you don't remember anything!"
Hahaha it was super hard for me to keep a straight face!

We've been sick... A lot!

Yucky! We have had some random illness for like 3 weekends in a row. Not fun. Extra snuggling going on here! She gets better by Monday and then sick on Friday again. It's called weekenditis. And apparently only girls get the disease. Hope we don't share with you!

Being the baby is rough

Going to and from school all day can wear you out and ruin any chance of a regular nap schedule . It's a good thing she is such a good baby and just rolls with it. Even if 90% of her life is spent in her carseat!

DIY refinishing

Years ago my mom got me this mirror. I love the shape of it but the oak color was a little outdated. After a few hours and some spray paint (my best friend) it turned out fabulous!
I put it in the girls room! I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out.

Backyard bouquet

We couldn't resist cutting these fresh flowers from our backyard. They line our entire back fence. The brought the most beautiful smell into my house too. Jaida sure loves flowers. What girl doesn't?

It's a tutu

Jaida got this tutu before she was born. It's a size 12 months. I can't believe it still fits. She loves it. She twirls and sings and dances around. I said I love your skirt Jaida! She replied it's a tutu mom!

Medals

Since we moved here Brock has been working really hard to master his sight words and letter sounds. They give out special medals to the kids who pass them off. To Brock this was a HUGE deal. He wanted those medals more than anything. This boy has more determination than most! He finally earned them. When I picked him up from school he came running out with excitement and yelled out," guess who earned his medals?... Oh yeah, this kid!" I'm so proud of my hard working Lumpy.

Fashion police

Violation.... Socks with flip flops! Jaida is guilty, but at least she got her shoes on the right feet.

Lunch date with Daddy-o

We met Trent for lunch at Costco and to do some shopping. This little girl sure loves her daddy. She has him wrapped around her little finger. This picture pretty much sums up her complete joy! Doesn't get much better!

Concentration

Scribbling takes a lot of hard work and concentration. This kept her focused for quite some time. She was pretty serious about whatever she was drawing.

I love this girl

She makes me laugh. She makes me happy. She makes me want to be better. She has taught me so much. Love you Jaida Lovey.

Bad cut

Don't laugh! I cried! It was awful. I had been stressing since bring here about finding someone to cut my hair. I finally went in consulted with a girl. She felt very confident she could handle it. I was relieved. I go in the next day and they tell me the girl I had the appt with had called in sick... What? But that another girl ( who is standing right there with a smile) had been taking over her appointments. That should've been my first Red-Flag to just get out of there. But I felt guilty and sad to tell that girl no! Believe me next time I will. She starts talking and i can tell she is nervous then she says... i just graduated! yup... the next red-flag! So the next thing I know she is pulling out the clippers, that was the next red-flag! As she takes the clippers up the back of my neck what do you know the power goes out!! REALLY??! She continues cutting and thinning and cutting and thinning. The room is very dimly lit and finally I ask.., um can you see what you're doing. Her reply .. Kinda! Ahhh... The horror! I left very mad/sad! Yes they made me pay! I got home and pierce says, " hey mom I like your bowl cut!" Tears:( pretty much sums that awful experience. Here is a picture of her disaster. I know it doesn't look that bad, but really this picture doesn't do it justice! I still am trying to recover! Sigh

Waiting for the boys

Seems like all we do these days is get in and out of the car to pick up the boys from school. This is what happens when you take a phone call with a doctor and let Jaida do whatever. She cleared out my entire car first aid kit and stuck every possible bandaid on her or the seat! Fabulous!

A gem

Picked up this beauty off Craigslist for only $25! Oh ya I was so excited. The lady said she was selling it for so cheap because it was "broken". When I went to look at it all that was wrong was a flat tire. I fixed it all up and have been pushing the girlies everywhere. It feels good to be active again. I had forgotten the happiness I get when I can just run. It clears my mind. Happy day!

Visitors

Uncle Cory and Aunt Dee drove up from San Diego for a weekend in April. We had a lot of fun. The girls spent the day at the River Park mall and had lunch.
Jaida enjoyed the play land and pick out some new Sunglasses.
We all rolled around in the minivan. I spent most of the weekend squished between my two boys.
The boys' school had a carnival Friday night. We hit that up. The boys spray painted their hair. Jaida got her nails done. They bounced all around on the blow up play things.
They met the mascot of the Fresno Grizzlies, Parker. They threw pies in faces, threw a football and dug for treasure. It was a fun night!
Jaida sporting her new shades. On Saturday we went up to Shaver Lake and enjoyed a picnic and some splashing fun! Cory and Dee introduced us to Thai food that night, yum!
A lot of time was spent playing battles with Lincoln logs. Uncle Cory came up with the idea of making cannons and blasting each others fortress! The highlight of the trip was watching Brock and Aunt Dee win the battle. Brock on cue stood up kissed his right had then his left, kicked Pierce and uncle Cory's tower over and graced us with a feast your eyes moment. Yeah we all pretty much couldn't stop laughing. We sure loved having them here and are so happy to have them close by!
