All Aboard....

Waiting for the TRAIN!
Riding on the Train....
A day with Daddy!

Yesterday I had this wild hair that I should take an adventure. I decided to take the boys on the new Frontrunner Train that goes from Ogden to Salt Lake. We hopped on at the Clearfield station and it was pretty smooth. We got a seat in the front of the train, we were just excited to have a seat.. since it is free for the next few days it was packed. Pierce was super excited and chatted the ENTIRE way down. The people around us were so sweet and glad to hear his excitement! He kept saying, " Mama is this kinda like Thomas?, Is this Like Percy?, Is this like James?" and continued naming all the character trains from Thomas the Train! He loves trains, so this was right up his alley! Also there was a smashed bug on the window that entertained him for a good portion of the ride he kept saying" EWW.. Mama, that is disgusting! Do you see that BUG!" Anyways the most exciting part was that we got to meet Trent, my mom and Whitney down town for lunch. Pierce was in heaven. Brock was DONE! We then went over to walk around the temple grounds, that is what Pierce has been wanting to do for some time now. Yesterday was a perfect day! He loves to look at the flowers and water features. And he was really excited to run on grass, since we have none at our house. Sometimes when I ask him what he wants to do for the day he will answer" Mama lets go find some grass.. that would be so fun!" Anyways he was glad to spend some time with Trent. But when It was time for us to go...MELT DOWN! Let me paint the picture: Brock in one arm falling asleep, Pierce throwing an ultimate 2 year old tantrum. I am trying to get from the Trax station to the Frontrunner station, as we arrive we realize that the line for the train is like a MILE long! I am bound and determined at this point to just get home. I squeeze my way on the train and find a seat comfortably on the Ground! Not too Comfy! By this time Pierce is still crying and hanging on my one leg, Brock wakes up and starts screaming too. I am sure the people on the train were super excited when I boarded! They finally calmed down and we actually had an okay ride home. My kids were very well behaved considering all that I had dragged them through and being Squished on a train floor for an hour! Needless to say we were really excited to get home.
The rest of the evening consisted of just that REST! We just chilled. Anyways it really was a great experience and I was glad that I did it, especially while it is free.. lets face it I AM CHEAP!

Finished!

So this past Saturday was the Salt lake City Marathon! I am proud to say that I finished the half-marathon! I cannot believe how long 13.1 miles is! That last three miles was like never ending! There were so many people there I couldn't believe it! My sister and I started together, but let me just tell you that she is so amazing! I could tell she was trying to hang back with me because when she finally just went for it I didn't see her again until I finished!I was so impressed that I was able to run the entire time with out stopping to walk! It is amazing to me what you can put your mind to when you think that there is no possible way that you can do it! Not to mention I had an incredible support team! It was so great to be able to come to the finish line and have your family and friends there cheering you on! The rush of energy was amazing.. I felt like I could have run farther!I didn't think it was as hard as I thought it would be. I wouldn't say that it was easy but not as hard! I am sure with out others support I wouldn't have made it! I have the cutest Grandpa ever who is so inspiring to me. He is still going after all these years it is incredible to me! Grandpa Dean has run like 28 marathons what an accomplishment! When I was like 2 miles from the finish line the man who won the marathon (26.2 Miles) passed me... I was in awe! If you could have seen them they were not even winded or tired they were going at full speed.. this was amazing to me. I have to say thanks to my Aunt Cathy who got all of this started and challenged us all to run! Next year we better have more family members jump on the band wagon and run! I am challenging My mother, Vicki, Lindsay, and Brooke!!!
Anyways after we got home Pierce was wanting to play with me and he kept trying to jump on me and saying,"get up Mama, get up!" I said "No Pierce Mama is tired she just ran a big race." He looked at me and with out skipping a beat he said," Yeah Ninny (my sister whitney) ran way, way faster!" Sad! I was cracking up! Nice support from my 2 year old son!
Sunday was not so good I was SO sore! The sight of stairs made me want to shrivel up and die! It hurt so bad to go up and down! Ouchie! I should have stretched! Trent was laughing his head off at me and said that I was walking like an old lady!
Trent was especially excited for me to run, he is so cute. Last week he came home and said guess what I signed you up for the Ogden half marathon! I was like dang it, I was just kinda doing this to say I did it not to make a hobby out of it, but he thinks otherwise. So yeah I have another one in a month! I am a little geeked up about it though to see if I can improve my time! We will see!

Soakin up the sun!

This is a picture of Brockie from my Dad's birthday party... I love this pic! He is sitting here with a crab... that is what he is, a CRABBY!
A picture of us minus Pierce he wanted nothing to do with us this day, at least one of our children does, although his face is not very convincing!
Pierce playing outside! He love his BIG sandbox that his daddy made for him outside.... hahaha that is what he tells people.. we just don't have a yard yet!

Yesterday was a great day! I love when the SUN is shining! I told Trent that my face had not been so happy in a long time! Trent took the day off yesterday and went golfing with my dad, and his friend Kevin. After they were done Trent, the boys and I all went to get some lunch and to the park. We met my mom there and had a little picnic. Trent and Pierce flew Pierce's kite. He has been wanting to fly it for some time but never has had good wind to do that! Yesterday was perfect! The weather lifted my spirits so much! After playing in the park for a while we headed home to put the boys down for a nap! They were tuckered out!
We thought we were going to have a relaxing rest of the day too, but not so much! When we got home our neighbors were all outside and Blake and Amber were preparing to get their yard done... LUCKY! So we stayed out and chatted. It was fun to actually feel like a neighborhood instead of being like hermits. It made me so excited for summertime to come! I think this summer is going to be a BLAST! We have such great neighbors!  Back to the not so relaxing part... Trent decided that he needed to prepare a ditch in the back yard where we are going to put some retaining rocks along our back patio! I am not sure he knew what he was getting himself into! It took almost the rest of the evening of us( well mostly Trent but I would like to be included since I was the one being his cheerleader!) shoveling away! That is one thing that I think I love about Trent he is ALWAYS willing to work hard rather than take the easy way out! Although sometimes I might prefer to have paid somebody because then his body pays for it, he is getting too old for that. He is the first one to tell you that! Anyways we both got some sweet sunburns and Trent is pretty sore!
We then just had a lazy evening while watching the Jazz game. I have gotten into watching the Jazz this season I don't know why. They have been playing so well lately it is fun to watch them kick every ones TRASH!

So Sick...

So now I know how bad Brock has felt he officially has passed his illness on to me and Pierce. Man this is wicked! My nose has been a constant fountain and at the same time I am so congested. Last night while laying in bed I thought for sure that my entire head was going to blow up! This cough is ridiculous. I am so stupid I tried to go out yesterday and run to accomplish something for exercise since my race is in a little over a week. Great timing to be sick! Well I made it around the block once and thought that I was going to have to be on oxygen.
There is one thing That I am so grateful for. My mom and dad are amazing. They are such worry warts! The minute that they found out Brock was sick they were so concerned. I think that I have talked to my parents just about every 30 min. Then on Tuesday they came up and brought us dinner and spent the night here to help out! They are so great!
Trent stayed home yesterday to help me out as well. I had to get out of the house so we went to Costco.. yahoo... and had lunch and did a little bit of shopping. While we were eating Brock, Pierce and I were all hacking up a lung and this old lady was giving us the evil eye! Funny.
Today I had another wonderful surprise, My Granny and Butchie came and brought us some ice cream treats. They are so cute and so funny. I am so grateful for family!

take a deep breath...

The nebulizer!
Staying positive.. Cute little buggar!

It all started on Friday. After about a week of this rotten cold I decided that it was time to take my little Brockie into the doctor even if I did look like one of those paranoid mothers! Too my surprise Brockie had an ear infection and sinus infection. Poor little man! So I went and got his medicine and settled him. And was glad that it was Conference weekend so that we could stay home and mend. Well on Monday it seemed as though he was just getting worse and I was starting to worry! His breathing just sounded really raspy and like he had wheezy breathing. So I waited until Trent got home to get his opinion, because I didn't want to be Paranoid. Trent was like why didn't you take him in he sounds horrible. So our fun filled family night was spent at the Tanner Clinic. They Checked his oxygen level and it was great and then they did a chest xray to make sure that pneumonia hadn't set in ... it looked good too, no signs of it. They gave him a breathing treatment and it totally cleared him up. He sounded much better. They told me that he has Bronchiolitis. The Doctor explained that is was like a more mild form of the stubborn RSV. I wasn't feeling so paranoid now, Now I was feeling bad that I made him suffer all day breathing like that! Anyways, The doctor had us set up for a nebulizer to come to our house, so that I can do breathing treatments every 6 hours to help his breathing! He is doing much better today and it has helped so much. I am so grateful for modern medicine and how it blesses us.I am always so grateful that my little boy has been trying so hard to be happy even though I know that he is not feeling good at all!

Anyways I am going to have to apologize to everyone that I was around. I feel bad. I read about it on WebMD and it says that it is spread just like the common cold. I hope that nobody else gets this. Sorry, Sorry SOrry!

Battle of the cousins..

So on Tuesday I went down to my parents house and Tyden and Pierce were playing downstairs. As responsible parents we were just sitting in the next room relaxing as we watched Dr. Phil. We heard a scream coming from Tydens den. Vicki and I went to check to see what was wrong. Pierce had his hand over his eye and it was all bloody. I thought the worst. I ran to get a rag to clean the area to see what the damage was. Just a small cut and a goose egg. Here is the story that Pierce tells.... " Tyden throw me a train right here on my head, I was just crying. Vicki said Tyden is in so, so trouble and Grammy said Oh shoot, and Mama said What happened? then Tyden said I'm sorry!" That about sums it up. Anyways in about two seconds after the brawl Pierce already wanted to be with his cousin again. That is a lesson we can all learn from kids. They are so forgiving and don't hold grudges!

After this incident Me and the boys trudged off to the Olive Garden to eat dinner with some of my High School buddies. I haven't seen them for quite a while so it was good to see them. We have all changed so much from high school it is so weird to me. I can't believe that we are all married and some of us have kids. Strange to think that. I cannot believe that I have the most kids... what is up with that? Never thought that would be. We were stupid and didn't take any pictures which I wish we had. Oh well that just means we will have to do that again.

I cannot wait for the weather to get better again so Pierce can play outside again. He gets so bored inside and so much more mischievous. He needs to burn off his energy outside. He cannot wait for the Salt Lake Bees games this summer I think he asks me about 3 times a day when we are going to the Bees baseball games. He is a little bit excited! He sports his shirt all the time. He will say " pretty soon, maybe another day when it gets warmer we go to the Bees!"
