Pierce Riley, I love you

I wanted to write this down for him to read some time later in his life.
Today I had my very first Parent/teacher meeting for Pierce. I must say I was a little nervous... You never know what 5 year old tells their teachers. I must say I was pleasantly surprised today! His teacher really couldn't have said it better. She told me today that Pierce is a pure joy to have in their class. He is someone that the other kids all look up to. He is an adult stuck in a little body she said. He has a unique characteristic that she doesn't see often enough, that being compassion. She said he is always making sure everyone else is comfortable and included. He socializes with everyone and tries to be friends with all the kids. She said he is very in tune with others and their feelings. When they have circle time they have the opportunity to open up and share their feelings and such. She said that he always want to talk about his family. She said he always brings up his Papa and Gramsie that are on a mission. (I was a little nervous when I heard that. It is a Presbyterian church and of course I didn't want to cause any ripples!) She said that he says that they are out serving Jesus and teaching the TRUE gospel. What a sweet, innocent boy he is! She said she wanted to let me know that she is really impressed with him and his knowledge of religious things. She said that when they talk about the Bible stories that he knows them and often answers the questions and tries to help the other kids understand. She said that she admires the way that we are rearing our children in righteousness and instilling our religious beliefs in him. Come to find out she went and toured our new church building and met President Belliston, but just recently put the 2 together that it was Pierce's Missionary Papa!
I have been really impressed with his preschool so far and it has been great for Pierce in many ways! It was great to hear from another person that we as parents are doing something good! I hope that he continues to be so sweet and open with others and sharing his testimony of Jesus! It is no wonder we are told to be more like children. Patient, kind, loving, understanding, compassionate and innocent. I love you Pierce.
